PAS-ISB was founded by amateur astronomers of Islamabad region in 2007 with the objective of providing a forum of common interest to amateur astronomers and to infuse the interest of science and of astronomy to other sections of society specially the younger generation. Since its inception, PAS-ISB been carrying out a variety of activities including star nights, public outreach programs, collaborated activities with other astronomy groups and educational institutions, etc. PAS-ISB is an active member of Astronomical League of Pakistan (ALOP).
