Prof. Z. B. Mirza (Prof. Zahid Baig Mirza) is the most experienced naturalist and ornithologist of Pakistan and has gained widespread international and national recognition for his dedicated work as a field scientist. To date, Prof. Mirza has authored over 60 research publications and 27 books including the widely acclaimed Field Guide to Birds of Pakistan and the Illustrated Handbook of Animal Biodiversity of Pakistan. Prof. Mirza is also a senior member of Islamabad Wildlife Management Board and Chair of its Scientific Committee, the Chairman of the Snow Leopard Foundation, Professional Consultant for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Management Plans of Pakistan, and an Executive Member of the WWF Scientific Council Pakistan. Prof. Mirza is the recipient of two Lifetime Achievement Awards and is also celebrated as one of the founding members of WWF, Pakistan and the First Director of the Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH), Islamabad along with the awardee of numerous other accolades!
