The progression towards a more scientifically immersed community continues as the KSS plans to organize the third Science Mela in October, 2019, in collaboration with the Ali Institute of Education. Since 2019 is the International Year of Periodic Table, our Mela this year will be focused on the wonders of chemistry including elements, minerals, compounds, mining and major industrial processes
The Khwarizmi Science Society, Spectra Magazine and Technology Times Magazine have collaborated with Forman Christian College, University of Lahore and University of Punjab to organize a workshop on science communication and promulgation. The workshop is to be organized on April 3rd, 2019 and we cordially invite our esteemed members to participate.
This science mela is part of Khwarizmi Science Society’s National Science Movement 2016 and Beyond.
On 6th June from sunrise to about 09:30 AM Venus will pass through the disk of our sun. Our resident astronomer Umair Asim will live broadcast it through Khwarizmi Science Society’s Channel of Night Skies Network using sophsticated Halpha solar filters and and a C14 Scope. For most living humans June 5/6, 2012 will be their last chance to see Venus cross in front of the Sun. The last transit of Venus occurred in 2004, but after this June the world will have to wait until 2117 for the next one. This historic viewing will also give us a chance of measuring the earth-sun distance. So keep in touch with us. In order to join this event, please logon to the Society’s channel on Night Skies Network! See you there.
