Adios! Lahore Science Mela’2022

With a plethora of emotions, the Lahore Science Mela 2022 came to an end.

The Lahore Science Mela (LSM) is the largest public gathering in Pakistan and the Khwarizmi Science Society. At LSM, a temporary live museum of science, technology, craft, inventions, and innovations is set up, and the love for science is truly cultivated and celebrated among the masses.

This year’s festival also celebrated Dr. Saadat Anwar Siddiqi’s lifelong educational services and was held on 29-30 October 2022 at the Divisional Public School and Intermediate College, Model Town, Lahore.

The Lahore Science Mela turned out to be a tremendous success. We welcomed more than 200 performers showcasing over 3000 distinct experiments, demonstrations, performances, specimens, and crafts from diverse fields and a footfall exceeding 50,000 visitors on both days of the festival. The mela attracted people from all walks of life, from Lahore and beyond. The testimonials we have received, and the widespread coverage of this event reinforce our belief that the scope for scientific reawakening and technological rejuvenation in Pakistani society is huge and the KSS’s contributions, spread over more than 25 years, can indeed make a long-lasting impact.

With this, we would also like to thank and welcome our new members who signed up at the Lahore Science Mela! Welcome on this journey towards making ourselves and everything around us an epitome of excellence and setting an example for generations to come.

This is just the beginning, and in the coming time, the Khwarizmi Science Society will bring even more opportunities for young and aspiring minds to engage with hands-on science and provide a platform for them that will bring out the best in them inspire others to do the same.
