Date: June 27, 2018 July 18, 2018 Time: 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, 04:00 pm Venue: Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, University of Punjab, Lahore, Dawah Academy, Faisal Mosque, Islamabad Abstract: The first ever Software Carpentry workshop will be organized by IDRACK and the Khwarizmi Science Society in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, University of Punjab, Lahore. IDRACK is a non-profit organization and is currently introducing software carpentry in Pakistan. The niche in which IDRACK works is scientific communication and awareness with a special emphasis on women in STEM. Currently, it is working in the area of scientific programming and introducing the research community in Pakistan to this practice to bring the quality of research at par with the developed world. Objectives: This workshop is being organised with two objectives in mind:
The workshop will be led by Ashar Malik from IDRACK who is also affiliated with Software Carpentry Community. He will be training the researchers so that they can continue this chain of research training in other institutions/cities as well.
