The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2016 was awarded to Yoshinori Ohsumi for his discovery of mechanisms of autophagy, a fundamental process for degrading and recycling cellular components.

The speaker, Dr. Kulsoom Ghias is an Associate Professor at the Agha Khan University, Karachi. The video was recorded by Saadia Jamal of the Khwarizmi Science Society.
