On January 26th, the Khwarizmi Science Society hosted its fourth lecture with Professor Emeritus James L. Wescoat Jr. from MIT. Titled “On the Bank of the Ravi: An Historical Geography of Lahore’s River, Problems and Prospects,” the lecture shed light on the degraded state of the River Ravi, indicating a crisis extending beyond mere environmental damage.
“A Mysterious Universe” The Khwarizmi Science Society recently hosted its third public lecture featuring Dr. Suhail Zubairy on 20th December 2023. Taking center stage, Dr. Zubairy delivered a captivating presentation entirely in Urdu, offering a unique perspective on the revolutionary scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century, making complex ideas accessible to a diverse audience.
14th July, 2023, marks the day when Mr. Shaheer Niazi captivated the audience not only with his words but also with the mesmerizing visuals that held everyone’s gaze fixed on the screen. The illustrations showcased the stars, planets, and the enchanting Milky Way, bringing to life everything we had heard about.
The recently launched Public Lecture series themed “Pakistan k Khazanay” broke its ground with it’s first lecture, delivered by Dr. Uzma Khan, Asia Coordinator of River Dolphin Rivers Initiative by WWF Pakistan on May 22nd, 2023 at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Shadman, Lahore.
This lecture enlightened students, teachers, and the general public about the challenges faced by Asian river dolphins, particularly the Indus River Dolphin, and introduced a pioneering conservation strategy.
