Abstract:

Day 1 opened with questions, observation, and the simple act of noticing. Through hands-on experiments, guided inquiry, and mini-lectures, participants explored how measurement, record-keeping, and reflection shape scientific understanding. Sessions on the psychobiology of learning invited educators to reflect on how curiosity forms, how learning happens, and how science can be taught as a process rather than just content. A day grounded in practice, reflection, and the belief that meaningful science education begins with wonder.

The second day of The Phenomenon Lab, jointly organized by Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS) and the Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning (CILL), moved into the technical core of scientific inquiry. Day 2 focused on measurement, data, and analysis as central components of the scientific method. Participants worked on measuring the traditionally unmeasurable parameters, converting observations into quantitative data, and
learning how to plot, analyze, and present data effectively. Using simple, ubiquitous tools such as smartphones and cameras, natural phenomena were recorded and examined through a systematic, evidence-based process. Sessions also explored the learning brain, examining how stress, attention, and memory influence scientific reasoning and knowledge acquisition. Throughout the day, collaboration and interdisciplinarity remained central, highlighting how multiple scientific domains intersect during real experimental work.
