




KSS partners with Science Diplomacy Unit, MOFA, Pakistan |

On Friday, 19 August 2022, the Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS) entered into a landmark agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Pakistan. Together, KSS and MOFA will further science popularisation and establish developed labs in Pakistan. The first of these labs will be set up in the public schools of GB and AJK. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and General Secretary Khwarizmi Science Society Dr. Sabieh Anwar for promotion of science popularization activities under the Science Diplomacy initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. MOFA has also decided to be the esteemed partner of KSS for Lahore Science Mela 2022 and facilitate with the visas of international delegates along with the promotion of Lahore Science Mela 2022 in Pakistan embassies around the world to create an effective international collaboration for science and technology. In his remarks, General Secretary of Khwarizmi Science Society Dr Sabieh Anwar welcomed the initiative and highlighted the need for such institutional collaborations for science popularization. He also emphasized the significance for creating partnerships between public and private sector stakeholders for maximizing the impact of science, technology, and innovation as an enabler for socio-economic development. He invited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join the Khwarizmi Science Society for successful convening of ‘Lahore Science Mela’. “This marks a new beginning for KSS’s efforts in putting Pakistan’s STEM initiatives on the global map.
